Product Owner

Job description

• Take ownership of the product backlog and translate product vision and business needs into clear requirements and priorities for engineering teams.
• Define and maintain product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and the product roadmap in cooperation with technical and business stakeholders.
• Work closely with software, embedded, electronics, and systems engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Gather and analyze requirements from customers, partners, and internal stakeholders and translate them into actionable development tasks.
• Prioritize features and development activities based on customer needs, business value, technical dependencies, and project constraints.
• Support the development of KP Labs' products and solutions for space applications, particularly in the area of on-board data processing.
• Coordinate product-related decisions between engineering teams, Business Development, Project Management, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in technical and product reviews and support decisions regarding product scope, functionality, and future development.
• Monitor product performance, collect feedback, and identify opportunities for improvements and new features.
• Maintain clear product documentation and ensure alignment between product requirements, development activities, and delivered functionality.

What we expect

• At least 3 years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Product Manager, or in a similar role in a technology-driven environment.
• Experience working closely with software and/or hardware engineering teams.
• Ability to understand technical concepts and translate business or customer needs into clear technical requirements.
• Experience in backlog management, requirements definition, and prioritization.
• Good understanding of the software and/or hardware product development lifecycle.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to cooperate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Analytical thinking and the ability to make decisions based on business value, technical constraints, and customer needs.
• Very good command of English (minimum B2 level), allowing you to communicate effectively with international customers and partners.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the product area.

Nice to have

• Experience in the space, aerospace, defence, embedded systems, or other high-tech industry.
• Technical or engineering background, particularly in Computer Science, Electronics, Automation, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Experience with embedded systems, edge computing, AI/ML, or on-board data processing.
• Experience working with complex products combining hardware and software.
• Knowledge of requirements management and traceability.
• Familiarity with ESA projects, ECSS standards, or development of products for regulated/high-reliability environments.
• Experience working with Jira, Confluence, or similar product management tools.
